If you are looking for a website developer then you have found the right person in Marian Jackson, owner of PaintWebs. Neither my wife Donna Rose Prestridge nor I knew anything about putting together a website for her studio “Into the Woods.” And, certainly Shopping Carts were a mystery.
After visiting the website of various decorative artists and talking with many of them, PaintWebs kept coming up. We called Marian and even our very first discussion with her was a pleasure. Donna has her CDA and Marian has hers. We found out that in addition to her CDA Marian is also a Master Stroke Artist and Master Floral Artist. So what difference did this make? Well she and Donna were able to discuss palettes in the development of the tones the website would take. I know of no one else that has the computer skills coupled with the artistic background to develop a website for the artist.
We are no longer afraid of shopping carts. Marian set ours up perfectly. The site is set up so that we can easily make changes ourselves in the items we offer for sale or add to them, i.e. pattern packets and painted pieces.

I met Marian Jackson when she introduced herself to me at the SDP Convention in Tampa, Florida. I had been discussing websites with several friends and they recommended Marian as a possible Designer and Webkeeper. So I was excited to meet her and talk about all the possibilities ahead of us.
I knew absolutely nothing about websites and very little about the internet. I was barely able to send e-mails! Being an artist and author of instructional decorative art, all I could do on the computer was type at a good pace.
Along came Marian and changed all that. Once I made the decision to hire her, we got right to work. She put lots of extra time and energy into getting my site online before the 2005 HOOT Convention. We did three months worth of work in six weeks!
It is so exciting to me! My site is beautiful! I hear lots of wonderful comments about the colors, the theme, the graphics, and the arrangement of the site. It's amazing how large the site is! Marian told me I would never run out of room. She added the Blog, as an afterthought, because I wanted a place to post stories, recipes, personal stuff, and convention photos, etc. Whatever I come up with, she finds a way to accommodate me. She treats me so "special" that I tease her about my being her only client!
She has taught me so much! Marian is very patient and is always there when I need her. She answers all my questions professionally but lets that "British humor" come through with little quips here and there, to lighten things up. She's always upbeat and eager to help. What else can I say? She's the perfect person for this job because she really loves what she is doing. I like her very much and respect her, professionally and personally.

Debbie SlavinI'd contemplated having PaintWebs install a shopping cart for several months, and it wasn't until I realized how much time I was spending on unnecessary work that I went ahead and made the decision to install one.
Prior to having the shopping cart on the site, I was constantly sending e-mails back-and-forth to customers regarding actual postage amounts and order totals, along with manually keying in invoice information for their records. Fact was, it was taking just too much. Productivity was a big issue for me, and the shopping cart was clearly the remedy!
Now, everything is neat and tidy; every morning I wake up and check my orders on-line. Everything is clear and concise, and as each order was received it had already generated a note (automatically) to the customer to let them know their order was being processed. So even when I'm not “tending" the store - the shopping cart is doing it for me.
Sales increased immediately and I believe it was due to the ease of ordering, and it appeals to the impulse buyer as well. Customers were losing interest while waiting for me to e-mail them back about shipping costs and other questions (as we did prior to the web cart). Overall, anyone in the business world would gain from having a shopping cart, not only in generating revenue, but in increasing your own personal productivity and giving your site a more professional image.
